For the kids

Every year at work we have a hat and mitten tree. So as my husband drives to/from work, I knit. Quilting is a little hard in the car. But I have done some bindings this past summer for the collage bound quilts. Last year I set a goal to make one scarf a month for the tree. I made 13. This year the goal was the same. The final total was 20 scarfs and 12 hats! This is just some of the items that when put on the tree. The process will start again in the new year. Maybe I'll see one of them when I walk around this winter.

Catch up time

Miniature Booty Swap II
It made it to it's new home so I think it is safe to post the final picture. This one had a lot of little pieces and I had to make sure that the dark colors did not come through the white. It came together better then I expected with all the angle.

The last quilt for the collage bound was delivered earlier this month. I made this with 33 different fat quarters. I used the left over strips from the fat quarters for the boarder. It made a nice touch in the end. Now all I need to do is get a picture of the first quilt.

Miniature Booty Swap II

Here is a peek at the quilt that went out today for the Miniature Booty Swap II. Once I know that the quilt made it to its new home I'll post a picture of the whole thing. For a small quilt it had lots of pieces! Off to my next project.

Update on quilting

The summer has just flown by. I've been sewing up a storm. so its time to post some of the projects.

My husband has two nieces and on nephew who are off to college this year. I started to make a quilt for my daughters when they went so I needed to keep up the tradition. Here is one of the quilts that I remembered to take a picture of.

Here is a sneak preview of a center block for Spring Fling Round Robin. Check out some of the other centers. I've been having allot of fun trying new things with this quilt swap.

More to come as soon as I take the pictures.

Spring Fling Round Robin rounds two, three and final

I've been busy quilting and did not have a lot of time to keep this up to date. So I'm posting the three rounds at once.
Round two - I tried to keep with the flow and color of the center piece. I went with the first thing that came to mind - cat tail and the opposite blue white design.
Now on to round three - This one was a little harder to for me because the piece looked finished with out another boarder. I tried to carry the framed look out one more round, matching the colors in the middle. I liked the result.
Now for the quilting round. This one was hard to send to the next person. It look really good on my wall. I hope the person getting it will like it.

Next post will have the quilt for my niece going off to collage.

The house is a construction zone, so computer time is limited to weekends right now. I managed to keep some of my work space open to keep up with my projects. But painting does cut down on the time left for craft projects.

I did the Winter Four Seasons Quilt Swap. This is the quilt that I made and sent. Hope to post more craft project in the near future.
